Nova Intern to CEO | Emil Bender Lassen

Interview with Emil Bender Lassen, a previous intern at Nova Founders Capital

Emil was the second intern at Nova Founders Capital (London) back in 2016; before there even was a dedicated internship program. He had just finished high school in Middelfart and was arranging the well regarded Nordic Study Abroad Conference in Denmark, where he met Mads Faurholt-Jorgensen and Rod Garcia (Senior Director of Admissions på MIT Sloan School). Emil impressed both Mads and Rod with his intellect, engagement and ambition. A few days after the conference Emil was on a plane to London for a case-interview and hired for the internship shortly afterwards.

“Right away I could tell that Emil is a rockstar; he has the drive, proactiveness and motivation to do something extraordinary,” says Mads Faurholt-Jorgensen.

Emil is currently in his 3rd year at King’s College London, where he’s pursuing a BSc degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics. He spent his 4th semester as a Visiting Undergraduate Student at NUS and Yale-NUS in Singapore.

Since his time at Nova Founders he has gained experience from strategy consulting at McKinsey & Company (Copenhagen/Seattle/Hague), impact investing at Matter (Copenhagen) and currently social entrepreneurship as co-founder and CEO of Project Access.

He’s recognised as a World Economic Forum Global Shaper and an UNLEASH Global SDG Talent.

He is serving on the Sounding Board to the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affair’s Taskforce on collaboration between Denmark and Danes living abroad and is the former Chairman of the Board of Danish Students Abroad.
